Classic BLT on Lightly Toasted Sourdough
Is there anything better than a perfectly stacked, flavor-packed BLT?
Ingredients
8 slices thick-cut bacon
8 slices sourdough bread, lightly toasted
2 large ripe tomatoes, sliced
4–6 crisp lettuce leaves (romaine or iceberg)
4 tbsp mayonnaise (like Duke’s or your favorite brand)
Salt & freshly ground black pepper
Instructions
1. Cook the Bacon
Fry the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until golden and crispy.
Transfer to paper towels to drain excess grease.
2. Toast the Sourdough
Lightly toast the bread — just enough to add a gentle crunch while keeping that soft sourdough bite.
3. Assemble the Sandwich
- Spread mayonnaise evenly on each slice of bread.
- Layer lettuce.
- Add tomato slices and season with salt and pepper.
- Top with crispy bacon.
- Close with the second slice of sourdough.
Serve
- Slice diagonally and serve immediately with:
- Chips
- Pickles
- Or a light side salad
Tips to Take It Up a Notch
- Use heirloom tomatoes for extra color and flavor
- Add avocado for a BLTA twist
