Crispy Fried Alligator Bites (Short Recipe)
Ingredients
1 lb (450 g) alligator tail meat, cut into bite-size pieces
1 cup buttermilk
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup cornmeal
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
Salt and black pepper, to taste
Oil for frying
Lemon wedges and dipping sauce, for serving
Instructions
1. Soak the alligator pieces in buttermilk for 30 minutes.
2. Mix the flour, cornmeal, paprika, garlic powder, cayenne, salt, and pepper.
3. Dredge the alligator pieces in the seasoned coating.
4. Fry in 350°F (175°C) oil for 3–5 minutes, until golden brown and cooked through.
5. Drain on paper towels and serve hot with lemon wedges and your favorite dipping sauce.
