Fried Stuffed Peppers
Ingredients:
- 4 large bell peppers
- 1/2 pound ground beef
- 1/2 cup cooked rice
- 1/2 cup shredded cheese
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- Vegetable oil, for frying
Instructions:
- Cut the tops off the bell peppers and remove the seeds and membranes. Set aside.
- In a pan over medium heat, cook the ground beef with the chopped onion and garlic until fully browned. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in the cooked rice, shredded cheese, salt, black pepper, paprika, and oregano. Mix well and let the filling cool slightly.
- Stuff each bell pepper with the prepared filling, pressing it in gently.
- Set up a breading station with flour in one bowl, beaten eggs in another, and breadcrumbs in a third. Roll each stuffed pepper in flour, dip in egg, then coat well with breadcrumbs.
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C).
- Carefully place the stuffed peppers in the hot oil and fry for 4 to 5 minutes, turning occasionally, until the outside is golden brown and crispy.
- Remove and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
- Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
