Fried Stuffed Peppers

Ingredients:

  • 4 large bell peppers
  • 1/2 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup cooked rice
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheese
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • Vegetable oil, for frying

Instructions:

  1. Cut the tops off the bell peppers and remove the seeds and membranes. Set aside.
  2. In a pan over medium heat, cook the ground beef with the chopped onion and garlic until fully browned. Drain excess fat.
  3. Stir in the cooked rice, shredded cheese, salt, black pepper, paprika, and oregano. Mix well and let the filling cool slightly.
  4. Stuff each bell pepper with the prepared filling, pressing it in gently.
  5. Set up a breading station with flour in one bowl, beaten eggs in another, and breadcrumbs in a third. Roll each stuffed pepper in flour, dip in egg, then coat well with breadcrumbs.
  6. Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C).
  7. Carefully place the stuffed peppers in the hot oil and fry for 4 to 5 minutes, turning occasionally, until the outside is golden brown and crispy.
  8. Remove and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
  9. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
