Country Style Ribs

Ingredients

  • 3 lbs country-style pork ribs
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp chili powder (optional)
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C).
  2. Season the country-style ribs on all sides with salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and chili powder if using.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the ribs on all sides until browned.
  4. Transfer ribs to a baking dish. Pour in chicken broth and sprinkle brown sugar over the ribs. Cover tightly with foil.
  5. Bake for 2 to 2½ hours until the ribs are tender.
  6. Remove foil, brush ribs generously with barbecue sauce, and return to the oven uncovered for 20 to 30 minutes until caramelized and sticky.
  7. Serve hot with mashed potatoes, coleslaw, or cornbread.
