Fried Bologna Sandwich
Ingredients
- 4 slices thick-cut bologna
- 4 slices white bread
- 2 slices American or cheddar cheese (optional)
- 2 tbsp butter or bacon grease
- Yellow mustard or mayonnaise (optional)
Instructions
- Heat butter or bacon grease in a skillet over medium heat.
- Cut a small slit in the edge of each bologna slice to prevent curling.
- Place bologna slices in the hot skillet and fry for 2 to 3 minutes per side until browned and slightly crispy on the edges.
- Toast the bread lightly in the same skillet if desired.
- Assemble the sandwich by placing fried bologna on bread, adding cheese if using, and spreading mustard or mayonnaise to taste.
- Serve hot for a classic Southern comfort sandwich.
