Ingredients

8 oz noodles (lo mein, spaghetti, or rice noodles)

1 lb ground beef

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 tsp fresh ginger (or ½ tsp ground)

⅓ cup soy sauce (low-sodium if possible)

¼ cup brown sugar

½ cup beef broth or water
-
1 tbsp hoisin sauce (optional but recommended)

1 tsp cornstarch + 1 tbsp water (slurry)

1 tbsp oil
-
½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

3–4 green onions, sliced
Instructions

Cook noodles according to package directions. Drain and set aside.

Heat oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.

Add ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess grease.

Add garlic and ginger. Stir for 30 seconds until fragrant.

Stir in soy sauce, brown sugar, broth, hoisin, and red pepper flakes.

Bring to a gentle simmer, then add cornstarch slurry. Stir until sauce thickens (1–2 minutes).

Toss in cooked noodles and green onions. Stir until fully coated.

Tips
-
Too salty? Add a splash of water.

Too sweet? Add a little rice vinegar.

Want it spicy? Add chili oil or sriracha.
