Monte Cristo Sliders

Ingredients

  • 1 package (12-count) Hawaiian sweet rolls (or any soft slider rolls)

  • 6 slices deli ham

  • 6 slices deli turkey

  • 6–8 slices Swiss cheese

  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise (optional)

  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard (or honey mustard for a sweeter flavor)

  • 4 tablespoons butter, melted

  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup or honey

  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard (for topping sauce)

  • 1 teaspoon poppy seeds (optional)

  • Powdered sugar, for dusting

  • Raspberry preserves (for dipping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven:

    • Preheat to 350°F (175°C).

    • Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

  2. Assemble the Sliders:

    • Slice the entire sheet of rolls in half horizontally (keep rolls attached).

    • Place bottom halves in the baking dish.

    • Spread mayo and mustard evenly over the cut sides (if using).

    • Layer half the cheese, then the ham, turkey, and remaining cheese.

    • Place the top halves of rolls on top.

  3. Make the Topping:

    • In a small bowl, mix melted butter, maple syrup (or honey), Dijon, and poppy seeds.

    • Brush generously over the tops of the rolls.

  4. Bake:

    • Cover loosely with foil and bake for 15 minutes.

    • Remove foil and bake another 10 minutes, or until golden brown and the cheese is melted.

  5. Serve:

    • Let cool slightly, then slice into individual sliders.

    • Dust lightly with powdered sugar.

    • Serve warm with raspberry preserves for dipping — just like a true Monte Cristo!
