Servings: 8 slices
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 25 minutes
Total Time: 35 minutes

Ingredients:
  • 8 slices Texas Toast Garlic (11.25 oz package, frozen)

  • 2 lbs Ground Beef (80/20 recommended)

  • 1.31 oz Sloppy Joe Mix Packet (e.g., McCormick) or homemade mix

  • 24 oz Manwich Original Sloppy Joe Sauce or homemade sauce

  • 2 cups Shredded Mozzarella Cheese

  • Fresh Parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions:
  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (204°C).

  2. Prepare baking sheet: Line with foil and arrange frozen Texas toast slices evenly spaced.

  3. Bake Texas toast according to package directions (usually 5–8 minutes per side).

  4. Cook the beef:

    • In a large skillet over medium heat, brown 2 lbs ground beef.

    • When about 90% cooked, drain excess grease.

  5. Add seasoning:

    • Stir in Sloppy Joe mix and cook until the beef is fully done.

  6. Add sauce:

    • Pour in 24 oz Manwich sauce, stir well, and simmer for about 5 minutes, until thickened.

  7. Assemble toasts:

    • Spoon the meat mixture onto each toast slice.

    • Top with about ¼ cup mozzarella cheese per slice.

  8. Bake again:

    • Return to oven and bake for 5 minutes, or until cheese is melted and slightly browned.

  9. Serve:

    • Remove from oven, garnish with fresh parsley if using, and serve warm.

Tips:
  • For extra flavor, use a sharp cheddar or pepper jack instead of mozzarella.

  • Add diced onions or bell peppers to the meat mix if desired.

  • Leftovers reheat well in the oven or air fryer for a crispy edge.
