Fried Catfish Nuggets
Ingredients:
- 1 pound catfish fillets, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup cornmeal
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- Vegetable oil for frying
- Lemon wedges for serving
Instructions:
Place the catfish nuggets in a bowl with the buttermilk and let soak for 20–30 minutes.
In another bowl, combine the cornmeal, flour, Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
Remove the catfish pieces from the buttermilk and coat them well in the seasoned cornmeal mixture.
Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet or fryer over medium-high heat. Fry the catfish nuggets in batches for about 3–4 minutes until golden brown, crispy, and fully cooked.
Remove and place on paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve hot with lemon wedges and your favorite dipping sauce.
