the pasta dish

Seriously, this is the pasta dish you didn’t know you were missing! It’s SO good, I’ve been making it constantly for my family and it’s a total rockstar whenever I bring it to a friend’s house. And the best part? It’s seriously FAST – like, 15 minutes from start to finish. Perfect for those nights when you’re craving something amazing but time is just not on your side.
Here’s what you need to whip up this magic:
  • 1/2 pound of your favorite pasta (linguine or spaghetti work beautifully!)
  • * 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • * 3-4 cloves garlic, minced (or more if you’re a garlic lover like me!)
  • * 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to your spice preference)
  • * 1 can (14.5 ounces) diced tomatoes, undrained
  • * 1/2 cup chicken or vegetable broth
  • * 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil
  • * Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • * Optional: Grated Parmesan cheese for serving
Let’s get cooking!
  • Get a pot of salted water boiling for your pasta and cook it according to package directions until al dente.
  • 2. While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant – be careful not to burn the garlic!
  • 3. Pour in the undrained diced tomatoes and the broth. Bring to a simmer and cook for about 5 minutes, letting the flavors meld.
  • 4. Once the pasta is cooked, drain it (reserving a little pasta water) and add it directly to the skillet with the tomato sauce. Toss everything together well.
  • 5. Stir in the fresh basil, and season with salt and pepper to your liking. If the sauce seems a little thick, add a splash of the reserved pasta water to loosen it up.
  • 6. Serve immediately, topped with a sprinkle of Parmesan if you’re feeling fancy.
Trust me, you’re going to want to make this over and over again. Enjoy!
