Southern Shrimp & Beef Nacho Fries

Ingredients (2–3 servings)

Base

  • 1 large bag frozen fries (waffle, steak-cut, or crinkle)

  • 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning

  • 1 tbsp oil (optional)

Beef Layer

  • 200–250 g ground beef

  • 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning

  • 1 tsp paprika

  • ½ small onion, diced

  • Salt & pepper to taste

Shrimp Layer

  • 150–200 g shrimp, peeled & deveined

  • 1 tbsp butter

  • 1 tsp Cajun seasoning

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tsp lemon juice

Cheese Sauce

  • 1 tbsp butter

  • 1 tbsp flour

  • 1 cup milk

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar or Tex-Mex cheese

  • ½ tsp Cajun seasoning

Optional Toppings

  • Sour cream

  • Green onions

  • Jalapeños

  • Diced tomatoes

  • Fresh parsley

  • Hot sauce (Louisiana-style is best)

Instructions

1. Cook the Fries

  1. Bake or air-fry your fries until crispy.

  2. Season immediately with Cajun seasoning.

2. Cook the Beef

  1. Heat a pan, add a little oil.

  2. Cook onions until soft.

  3. Add ground beef and break it up.

  4. Season with Cajun seasoning, paprika, salt & pepper.

  5. Cook until browned and slightly crispy.

  6. Set aside.

3. Cook the Shrimp

  1. In the same pan, melt butter.

  2. Add garlic and cook 30 seconds.

  3. Add shrimp with Cajun seasoning and lemon juice.

  4. Cook 1–2 minutes per side until pink.

  5. Remove from heat.

4. Make the Cheese Sauce

  1. Melt butter in a small saucepan.

  2. Add flour and whisk 30 seconds.

  3. Slowly pour in milk, whisking until smooth.

  4. Add cheese and Cajun seasoning.

  5. Stir until thick and creamy.

5. Assemble the Nacho Fries

  1. Place the fries on a large platter.

  2. Top with cooked beef.

  3. Add the buttery Cajun shrimp.

  4. Pour the cheese sauce all over.

  5. Finish with your favorite toppings:

    • sour cream

    • jalapeños

    • tomatoes

    • parsley

    • green onions

    • hot sauce
