🥐 Italian Crescent Casserole

Ingredients

1 lb (450 g) ground beef or Italian sausage

1 small onion, diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup bell peppers, diced (optional)

1 tsp Italian seasoning
-
½ tsp salt, ¼ tsp black pepper

1 jar (24 oz) marinara or pasta sauce
-
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
-
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
-
2 cans (8 oz each) refrigerated crescent rolls

Optional: ¼ tsp red pepper flakes for a little heat
Instructions

Cook the Meat & Veggies

In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef (or sausage) until browned.

Add onion, garlic, and bell peppers. Cook 3–4 minutes until softened.

Stir in Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and marinara sauce. Simmer for 3–5 minutes.

Prepare Crescent Rolls

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

Roll out crescent dough and separate into triangles.

Assemble Casserole

In a greased 9×13″ baking dish, spread half of the meat sauce mixture.

Place crescent roll triangles over the sauce, slightly overlapping to cover the bottom.

Spread remaining meat sauce over the top.

Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheese evenly over the top.

Bake

Bake uncovered for 20–25 minutes, until the crescents are golden brown and cheese is melted and bubbly.

Let the casserole cool for 5 minutes before slicing.

Garnish with fresh basil or parsley if desired.
