Fried Chicken
1.5 kg chicken pieces (drumsticks, thighs, wings, or breasts)
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 tsp paprika
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
2 large eggs
1/2 cup buttermilk
Vegetable oil, for frying
2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)
Directions:
Heat the oil in a deep skillet or fryer to 175°C (350°F).
In one bowl, mix the flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. In another bowl, whisk together the eggs and buttermilk.
Dip each chicken piece into the buttermilk mixture, then coat thoroughly in the seasoned flour.
Fry the chicken in batches for 12–15 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden brown, crispy, and cooked through.
Transfer the chicken to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot with mashed potatoes, coleslaw, biscuits, or your favorite dipping sauce.
