- 180 ml beer
- 120 ml milk
- 150 g shredded sharp cheddar
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- Β½ tsp garlic powder
- Salt and black pepper
π¨βπ³ Instructions
- Caramelize the onions: Melt the butter in a skillet over medium-low heat. Add onions and salt. Cook for 20β25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until deeply golden. Stir in brown sugar and cook for another 2 minutes.
- Cook the bacon: Fry the bacon until crisp. Drain on paper towels and set aside.
- Make the beer-cheese sauce: Melt butter in a saucepan. Whisk in flour and cook for 1 minute. Slowly whisk in the beer and milk until smooth. Simmer for 2β3 minutes, then reduce the heat and gradually stir in the cheddar. Add Dijon, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Stir until smooth and creamy.

- Toast the buns: Toast the cut sides of the buns in the same skillet with a little butter until golden.
- Build the burgers: Spread a little beer-cheese sauce on the bottom bun. Add the beef patty, crispy bacon, and caramelized onions. Drizzle generously with warm beer-cheese sauce and finish with the top bun.
