Fried Cajun Shrimp
Ingredients:
1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
1 cup buttermilk
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup cornmeal
1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Vegetable oil for frying
Lemon wedges for serving
Instructions:
Place the shrimp in a bowl with the buttermilk and let soak for 20–30 minutes.
In another bowl, combine the flour, cornmeal, Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
Remove the shrimp from the buttermilk and dredge them in the seasoned flour mixture until fully coated.
Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet or fryer over medium-high heat. Fry the shrimp in batches for 2–3 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
Remove the shrimp and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve hot with lemon wedges and your favorite dipping sauce.
