🥓 Classic bacon butty recipe
✅ Ingredients:
- 2 soft white bread rolls (or thick slices of white bread)
- 6–8 rashers of smoked back bacon (or streaky bacon if you prefer it crispier).
- Butter (generously spreadable, preferably salted)
- Optional extras: ketchup, brown sauce or mayonnaise.
🔪 Instructions:
Prepare the bacon:
- Heat a frying pan or grill over a medium-high heat.
- Add the bacon rashers and cook until they reach your desired level of crispiness (approx. 4–6 minutes). Flip halfway through cooking.
- Drain any excess fat on kitchen paper if desired.
Butter the rolls:
- While the bacon is cooking, slice the white rolls open.
- Generously spread butter on the inside of each half. It should be thick and soft, just like in the photo.
Assemble the sandwich:
- Pile the hot bacon straight onto the buttered base of the roll. The heat will melt the butter slightly—perfect!
- Add any sauces you like, if desired.
Serve:
- Close the roll, pressing down lightly, and serve immediately.
Enjoy it hot with a cup of tea or coffee for the full British experience!

🔁 Variations:
- Add a fried egg for a bacon and egg sandwich.
- Use cream cheese instead of butter for a richer flavour.
- For a crunchier texture, toast the bread lightly.
