Slow Cooked Spicy Beef Curry
Bold & Flavourful Slow-Cooked Spicy Beef Curry with Aromatic Spices and Rich Gravy
Ingredients:
- 1 kg beef chuck, cut into bite-sized cubes
- 30ml vegetable oil
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 15ml fresh ginger, grated
- 30ml curry powder
- 5ml chili powder (adjust to taste)
- 5ml ground cumin
- 2.5ml turmeric
- 2.5ml ground cinnamon
- 410g can diced tomatoes
- 250ml beef broth
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh cilantro, chopped (optional)
Instructions:
1. Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
2. Add garlic and ginger; cook for 1 minute.
3. Add beef and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.

4. Stir in curry powder, chili powder, cumin, turmeric, and cinnamon. Cook for 1 minute.
5. Add diced tomatoes and beef broth. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer, covered, for 2-3 hours or until beef is tender.
6. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
7. Serve hot, garnished with chopped cilantro if desired.
Tips:
- Adjust the amount of chili powder to your desired level of spiciness.
- Serve with rice, roti, or naan bread for a delicious meal.
- You can also make this recipe in a slow cooker. Brown the beef and cook the onion mixture, then transfer everything to the slow cooker and cook on low for 6-8 hours.
