Ingredients

4–5 large apples (Golden Delicious or Fuji), peeled, cored, sliced

½ cup brown sugar

¼ cup white sugar

1 tsp ground cinnamon

¼ tsp nutmeg (optional)

1 tsp vanilla extract

¼ cup butter, cut into pieces

½ cup apple juice or water
-
1 tbsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water (optional, for thicker sauce)
Instructions

Add apples to slow cooker.

Sprinkle with brown sugar, white sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla.

Pour in apple juice (or water) and dot with butter.

Cover and cook:

LOW: 4–5 hours
-
HIGH: 2–3 hours
Stir once halfway if possible.

For thicker syrup, stir in cornstarch slurry during the last 30 minutes.
Tips

Slice apples evenly so they cook uniformly.

Want them less sweet? Reduce sugar by ¼ cup.

For extra richness, add a pinch of salt.
