FULL, CLASSIC SALISBURY STEAK WITH GARLIC MASHED POTATOES, GRAVY & BUTTERED CORN
🥩 Salisbury Steak with Onion Gravy
Serves 3–4
Ingredients
Salisbury Steaks

500 g ground beef
-
1 egg
-
½ cup breadcrumbs
-
1 small onion, finely chopped
-
2 cloves garlic, minced
-
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
-
1 tsp mustard (optional but recommended)
-
1 tsp salt
-
½ tsp black pepper
-
½ tsp paprika
-
1 tbsp oil (for frying)
Onion Gravy
-
1 large onion, sliced
-
2 tbsp butter
-
2 tbsp flour
-
2 cups beef broth
-
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
-
Salt & pepper to taste
Instructions
-
Make the patties
In a bowl, mix ground beef, egg, breadcrumbs, onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, salt, pepper, and paprika.
Shape into oval patties. -
Brown the steaks
Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
Cook patties 3–4 minutes per side until browned. Remove and set aside. -
Prepare the gravy
In the same pan, melt butter.
Add sliced onions and cook until soft and golden.
Stir in flour and cook 1 minute.
Slowly whisk in beef broth and Worcestershire sauce. -
Simmer
Return patties to the pan.
Cover and simmer on low heat for 15–20 minutes until tender and coated in gravy.
🧄 Garlic Mashed Potatoes
Ingredients

1 kg potatoes, peeled & chopped
-
3 cloves garlic
-
3 tbsp butter
-
½ cup warm milk (or cream)
-
Salt to taste
Instructions

Boil potatoes and garlic in salted water until very soft.

Drain well.
-
Mash with butter, warm milk, and salt until smooth and creamy.
🌽 Buttered Corn
Ingredients
-
2 cups sweet corn (fresh or canned)
-
1 tbsp butter
-
Salt & pepper
Instructions
-
Heat corn in a small pan.
-
Add butter, salt, and pepper.
-
Stir until glossy and hot.

Serve Salisbury steak smothered in gravy, garlic mashed potatoes with extra gravy on top, and buttery corn on the side 🤍
