🍗 Dry Rub Chicken Wings (Crispy & Flavorful)

Ingredients

For the wings

  • 1 kg chicken wings

  • 1 tbsp olive oil (optional, for crispiness)

Dry Rub Mix

  • 1 tbsp paprika

  • 1 tbsp garlic powder

  • 1 tbsp onion powder

  • 1 tbsp brown sugar (optional, for caramelization)

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1 tsp black pepper

  • 1 tsp chili powder

  • 1 tsp smoked paprika (optional, adds BBQ flavor)

  • ½ tsp cumin

  • ½ tsp oregano

  • ½ tsp cayenne pepper (optional for heat)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 220°C (425°F).

  2. Pat the wings very dry with paper towels — this makes them crisp.

  3. Toss wings with 1 tbsp olive oil (optional).

  4. In a bowl, mix all the dry rub spices.

  5. Coat wings evenly with the dry rub.

  6. Place wings on a wire rack over a baking sheet (helps them crisp).

  7. Bake 40–45 min, flipping halfway, until crispy and golden.

  8. Let rest 5 minutes, then serve hot.

⭐ Tips for Extra Crispiness

  • Add 1 tsp baking powder (NOT baking soda) to the dry rub — restaurant-level crisp.

  • Air fryer method: 200°C for 20–25 minutes, shake halfway.
