Crumbed Sausage & Creamy Cheese Wontons – Full Recipe
Ingredients
For the filling:

450g (1 lb) ground sausage (any type you like)

1 small onion, finely diced
-
1 small red bell pepper, finely diced
-
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
-
½ cup grated cheddar cheese
-
½ cup cream cheese, softened
-
1 tsp garlic powder
-
1 tsp onion powder
-
½ tsp black pepper
-
½ tsp paprika
-
Salt to taste
For assembling:
-
30–40 wonton wrappers
-
Non-stick spray or a little oil
-
Optional: extra black pepper for sprinkling
Instructions
1. Cook the sausage mix

In a pan over medium heat, cook the ground sausage until browned.

Add the onion + bell pepper and sauté until soft.

Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
2. Make the creamy filling
In a large bowl, mix together:

Cooked sausage mixture
-
Cream cheese
-
Mozzarella
-
Cheddar
-
Garlic powder
-
Onion powder
-
Paprika
-
Black pepper + salt
Stir until everything is creamy and evenly combined.
3. Assemble the wonton cups

Preheat oven to 190°C / 375°F.

Lightly grease a muffin tin.

Press one wonton wrapper into each muffin cup (let the corners stick up like the picture).

Spoon 1 tablespoon of the sausage-cheese filling into each wonton.

Add a small sprinkle of cheese on top if you like.
4. Bake
Bake for 10–12 minutes or until:

The edges are golden and crispy
-
The filling is hot and bubbly
Let cool slightly before removing from the pan.
Serve
Serve warm with:
