Fried Buttermilk Biscuits

Ingredients:

2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons cold butter
3/4 cup buttermilk
Vegetable oil for frying
Butter and honey for serving

Instructions:

In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Pour in the buttermilk and stir until a soft dough forms. Turn the dough onto a floured surface and gently knead a few times.

Roll or pat the dough to about 1/2-inch thickness and cut out biscuits using a biscuit cutter or glass.

Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet over medium heat. Carefully place the biscuits into the hot oil and fry for about 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through.

Remove the biscuits and place on paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve warm with butter and honey.
