Prep time: 10 minutes
Cook time: 8 minutes
Servings: 4 burgers

Ingredients

• Ground beef, 500 g (80/20 for juiciness)
• Salt, 1 teaspoon
• Black pepper, ½ teaspoon
• Garlic powder, ½ teaspoon
• Onion powder, ½ teaspoon
• Cheddar cheese slices, 4
• Burger buns, 4
• Lettuce leaves

Instructions

1. Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions and gently shape into patties. Press a small indent in the center of each.
2. Season both sides with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
3. Heat a grill pan or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook patties for 3–4 minutes per side, until desired doneness.
4. Place a slice of cheddar on each patty during the last minute of cooking and let it melt.
5. Lightly toast the buns with olive oil or butter.
6. Assemble burgers with lettuce, tomato, onion, and the cheesy patty. Serve warm.

Optional tips

• Avoid pressing the patties while cooking to keep them juicy.
• Add a splash of water to the pan and cover briefly to help the cheese melt evenly.
