For the Cake
• 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
• 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
• 1 cup (226g) unsalted butter, softened
• 4 large eggs
• ½ cup (120ml) whole milk
• 2 tsp (8g) baking powder
• 2 tsp (10ml) vanilla extract
• ⅓ cup (30g) cocoa powder
• 3 tbsp (45ml) hot water
• ¼ tsp (1g) salt
For the Chocolate Drizzle
• ½ cup (90g) dark chocolate, chopped
• ¼ cup (60ml) heavy cream
⸻
1. Make the Cake Batter
1. Cream the softened butter and sugar together until pale, light, and fluffy.
2. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
3. Mix in the vanilla extract.
2. Prepare the Dry Ingredients
1. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
2. Add this dry mixture to the butter mixture in two additions, alternating with the milk.
3. Mix only until combined — do not overmix.
3. Create the Marble Batter
1. Scoop about 1 cup of the vanilla batter into a small bowl.
2. Mix cocoa powder and hot water to make a smooth paste.
3. Stir this cocoa paste into the reserved batter to create your chocolate layer.
4. Assemble the Marble Cake
1. Pour the vanilla batter into a greased and lined loaf pan.
2. Spoon the chocolate batter on top.
3. Use a skewer or knife to gently swirl the two batters together for that classic marble pattern.
5. Bake
• Bake at 170°C (340°F) for 45–55 minutes, or until a skewer inserted in the center comes out clean.
• Let the cake cool completely.

6. Make the Chocolate Drizzle
1. Warm the heavy cream until just steaming.
2. Pour it over the chopped dark chocolate.
3. Let sit for 1 minute, then stir until smooth and glossy.
4. Drizzle over the cooled cake.
