Candied Jalapenos

🌶️ Candied Jalapeños (Cowboy Candy)

⭐ Ingredients

  • 1 lb fresh jalapeños (about 12–15 peppers)

  • 2 cups sugar

  • 1 cup apple cider vinegar

  • ½ tsp turmeric

  • ½ tsp garlic powder

  • ¼ tsp ginger powder

  • ¼ tsp chili flakes (optional for extra heat)

  • Pinch of salt

⭐ Instructions

1. Prep the jalapeños

  1. Wash peppers.

  2. Slice into ¼-inch rings (remove some seeds if you want it milder).

  3. Set aside.

2. Make the syrup

In a pot combine:

  • Sugar

  • Apple cider vinegar

  • Turmeric

  • Garlic powder

  • Ginger

  • Salt

  • Chili flakes (optional)

Heat over medium, stirring until sugar dissolves.
Bring to a low boil and simmer 5 minutes.

3. Add the jalapeños

Add sliced jalapeños to the syrup.
Simmer 4–5 minutes, until peppers look slightly darker and more glossy.

4. Jar them

Use a slotted spoon to transfer jalapeños into clean jars.
Pour hot syrup over them, leaving a little space at the top.

Let cool, then refrigerate.
