Christmas Red Jam

⭐ Ingredients (makes ~4 small jars)

  • 2 cups fresh or frozen cranberries

  • 2 cups fresh or frozen raspberries

  • 2 cups sugar

  • 1/2 cup water

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (optional but delicious)

  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon

  • Pinch of nutmeg (optional)

  • Zest of 1 orange

  • 2 tbsp lemon juice

⭐ Instructions

1. Cook the fruit

In a medium pot, add:

  • Cranberries

  • Raspberries

  • Water

  • Orange zest

Bring to a boil over medium heat.

2. Add sugar & spices

Once the cranberries start popping, add:

  • Sugar

  • Lemon juice

  • Cinnamon

  • Nutmeg (optional)

Stir well and reduce heat.

3. Simmer

Cook for 10–15 minutes, stirring often, until:

  • The berries break down

  • The mixture thickens into a jam-like consistency

Use a potato masher if you prefer a smoother texture.

4. Finish

Turn off heat and stir in:

  • Vanilla extract

Taste and adjust sweetness or lemon juice if needed.

5. Jar it

Pour hot jam into clean jars.
Let cool, then refrigerate.
(Lasts 2–3 weeks in the fridge or 6–12 months if properly canned.)
