Steam-Clean Oven “Recipe”

Ingredients

  • 1 oven-safe pan or baking dish

  • 2–3 cups water

  • (Optional) 2–3 tbsp white vinegar for extra degreasing power

Instructions

1. Prep the oven

  • Remove any large food debris.

  • Keep the racks inside — the steam will help clean them too.

2. Fill the pan

  • Add 2–3 cups of water to an oven-safe pan.

  • Optional: Add 2–3 tbsp white vinegar to help loosen grease.

3. Heat to create steam

  • Place the pan on the lowest rack.

  • Set the oven to 450°F (230°C) or run the Steam Clean / Aqua Clean cycle if your oven has one.

  • Let it steam for 20–30 minutes.

4. Cool slightly

  • Turn off the oven and let it cool for about 10 minutes — still warm, but safe to touch.

5. Wipe clean

  • Carefully remove the pan.

  • Use a damp cloth or sponge to wipe down:

    • Walls

    • Racks

    • Oven floor

    • Door glass

  • The grime should wipe off easily because the steam loosened it.
