Shrimp And Steak (Surf & Turf) Recipe
A restaurant-quality meal made easy at home!
Ingredients
For the Steak:
• 2 ribeye or sirloin steaks (about 8 oz each)
• 1 tbsp olive oil
• 2 tbsp butter
• 3 cloves garlic, minced
• Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
• Fresh rosemary or thyme (optional)
For the Shrimp:
• 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
• 1 tbsp olive oil
• 2 tbsp butter
• 3 cloves garlic, minced
• ½ tsp paprika
• ½ tsp crushed red pepper (optional for heat)
• Juice of ½ lemon
• Salt and pepper, to taste
• Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Optional Sides:
• Mashed potatoes, roasted veggies, or a side salad
Instructions
1. Prepare the Steak:
• Pat steaks dry and season both sides with salt and pepper.
• Heat olive oil in a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat.
• Add the steaks and sear for 3–4 minutes per side for medium-rare (adjust for preferred doneness).
• During the last minute, add butter, minced garlic, and herbs. Spoon the melted butter over the steaks.
• Remove and let rest for 5–10 minutes.
2. Cook the Shrimp:
• In the same skillet, add olive oil and butter.
• Toss in the minced garlic, paprika, and red pepper flakes. Sauté until fragrant (about 30 seconds).
• Add the shrimp, season with salt and pepper, and cook for 2–3 minutes per side until pink and cooked through.
• Squeeze in lemon juice and toss to coat.
3. Assemble & Serve:
• Plate the steak and top with the garlicky shrimp.
• Drizzle the pan sauce over everything and garnish with parsley.
• Serve with mashed potatoes or roasted
veggies for a complete surf & turf feast!
