Easy Calzone Pockets

Pizza night just got a serious upgrade! Forget delivery, these Easy Calzone Pockets are a game-changer and SO much cheaper (and tastier!) than takeout. My family devoured them in minutes!
**Easy Calzone Pockets**
**Yields:** 6 pockets
**Prep time:** 20 minutes
**Cook time:** 20-25 minutes
**Ingredients:**
  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • * 1/2 cup pizza sauce
  • * 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • * Optional fillings: pepperoni slices, cooked sausage, sautéed peppers and onions, mushrooms, olives
  • * 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • * Italian seasoning (for sprinkling)
**Instructions:**
  • **Preheat & Prep:** Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into 6 triangles.
  • 2. **Assemble the Pockets:** On the wider end of each crescent roll triangle, spread about 1 tablespoon of pizza sauce, leaving a small border. Sprinkle with a generous amount of mozzarella cheese. Add any of your favorite optional fillings on top of the cheese.
  • 3. **Fold and Seal:** Carefully fold the pointed end of the dough triangle over the filling to meet the wider end, creating a pocket. Press the edges firmly together to seal, you can even crimp with a fork to ensure they don’t open during baking.
  • 4. **Egg Wash & Season:** Place the assembled calzone pockets onto the prepared baking sheet. Brush the tops evenly with the beaten egg wash. This will give them a beautiful golden-brown color. Sprinkle with a little Italian seasoning if desired.
  • 5. **Bake to Perfection:** Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the calzone pockets are golden brown and puffed up. The outside gets wonderfully crispy, and the inside stays warm and gooey!
  • 6. **Serve & Enjoy:** Let them cool slightly before serving. Serve with extra pizza sauce for dipping. Enjoy your delicious homemade calzone pockets!
