Ingredients:

2 pounds round steak, cut into serving portions
½ cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
½ teaspoon paprika
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 large onion, sliced
1 green bell pepper, sliced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 (14.5 oz) can diced tomatoes
1 cup beef broth
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon sugar
½ teaspoon dried thyme

Directions:

Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C).
Combine flour, salt, pepper, and paprika in a shallow dish. Dredge steak pieces thoroughly.
Heat vegetable oil in a large oven-safe skillet or Dutch oven over medium-high heat.
Brown steak on both sides, then remove and set aside.
Add onion and bell pepper to the same pan and sauté until softened.
Stir in garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
Add diced tomatoes, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, sugar, and thyme. Stir well.
Return steak to the pan, spooning sauce over the meat.
Cover and transfer to oven. Bake for 1 hour 45 minutes, until steak is fork-tender.
Serve hot with mashed potatoes, rice, or buttered noodles.
