Ingredients (1 standard 9-inch quiche)
Crust
-
1 9-inch pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
Filling
-
4 large eggs
-
1 cup heavy cream (or half-and-half)
-
½ tsp salt
-
¼ tsp black pepper
-
¼ tsp garlic powder (optional)
-
¼ tsp nutmeg (optional but classic in quiche)
Cheeses
Use any combo you like, but this blend works beautifully:
-
1 cup shredded Gruyère
-
½ cup shredded cheddar
-
½ cup crumbled feta
(~2 cups cheese total)
🧑🍳 Instructions
1. Prepare the crust
-
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
-
Place crust in a 9-inch pie dish and crimp the edges.
-
Optional but recommended: Blind-bake the crust:
-
Line with parchment and fill with pie weights or dried beans.
-
Bake 10–12 minutes, then remove weights and bake 5 more minutes.
-
2. Prepare the filling
-
Whisk together eggs, heavy cream, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and nutmeg.
-
Spread all three cheeses evenly over the bottom of the crust.
3. Assemble & bake
-
Pour the egg mixture over the cheese.
-
Place quiche on a baking sheet (for easy handling).
-
Bake 35–45 minutes, or until the center is set but slightly jiggly.
-
Let rest 10 minutes before slicing—this helps it firm up.
