Ingredients
Meat Sauce (Kima)

1 lb ground beef

1 onion, finely chopped

3 cloves garlic, minced
-
½ cup red wine (optional but traditional)

1 can (15 oz) crushed tomatoes

2 tbsp tomato paste
-
1 tsp sugar
-
1 tsp cinnamon
-
½ tsp allspice
-
½ tsp oregano
-
Salt & pepper

3 tbsp olive oil
-
½ cup water or beef broth
Pasta
-
12 oz spaghetti
Topping
-
Grated Kefalotyri, Romano, or Parmesan cheese
Instructions

Heat olive oil in a pan.

Sauté onion until soft, then garlic 30 seconds.

Add ground beef and brown completely.

Pour in wine (if using). Simmer 2 minutes.

Add crushed tomatoes, paste, sugar, cinnamon, allspice, oregano, salt, pepper, and water.

Simmer uncovered 30–40 minutes until thick and rich.

Boil spaghetti until al dente.

Serve pasta with meat sauce and lots of grated cheese.
