🍓 Fried strawberry cheesecake sandwich recipe

✅ Ingredients:

For the filling:

  • 1 cup of softened cream cheese
  • 2 tablespoons of icing sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • ½ cup of finely chopped fresh strawberries (or strawberry jam).

For the sandwich:

  • 8 slices of white sandwich bread (crusts trimmed)
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons of milk
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • Butter or oil for frying.

Make the filling:

  • In a bowl, mix the cream cheese, icing sugar and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Fold in the chopped strawberries (or swirl in jam for easier spreading).

Assemble the sandwiches:

  • Take a slice of bread and spread a spoonful of the cream cheese mixture onto it.
  • Top with another slice of bread and press the edges firmly together to seal. Use a fork to crimp the edges or cut into triangles or rounds with a cutter.

Prepare the coating:

  • In a bowl, whisk the eggs and milk together.
  • In another bowl, mix the sugar and cinnamon together.

Fry the sandwiches:

  • Heat a little butter or oil in a frying pan over a medium heat.
  • Dip each sandwich in the egg mixture, ensuring both sides are coated.
  • Fry until golden brown on both sides, which should take about 2–3 minutes per side.

Coat in cinnamon sugar:

  • While still warm, roll the fried sandwiches in the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  • Serve warm.
  • Optionally, dust with icing sugar or drizzle with chocolate or strawberry sauce.
  • For the best texture, serve immediately.

📝 Tips:

  • Freeze them for 15 minutes before frying to help them stay sealed better.
  • Try adding Nutella and strawberries for a twist!
  • Use brioche or Texas toast for a richer flavour.
