🍫 Hot Fudge Chocolate Pudding Cake

🛒 Ingredients

Cake Batter

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • ¾ cup granulated sugar

  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder

  • 2 teaspoons baking powder

  • ¼ teaspoon salt

  • ½ cup milk

  • 2 tablespoons melted butter (or oil)

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Fudge Topping

  • ½ cup granulated sugar

  • ½ cup brown sugar

  • ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder

And

  • 1 ½ cups hot water

👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
    Lightly grease an 8×8-inch baking dish.

  2. Make the batter:
    In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, and salt.
    Stir in milk, melted butter, and vanilla until smooth.
    Spread evenly in the baking dish.

  3. Make the topping:
    In a small bowl, mix granulated sugar, brown sugar, and cocoa.
    Sprinkle evenly over the batter (do not stir).

  4. Add hot water:
    Carefully pour hot water over everything.
    Do NOT stir — this is what creates the sauce!

  5. Bake for 35–40 minutes.
    The top will look set, but underneath will be rich chocolate sauce.

  6. Rest 10 minutes, then spoon into bowls.
