🛒 Ingredients
Cake Batter

1 cup all-purpose flour

¾ cup granulated sugar

2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder

2 teaspoons baking powder

¼ teaspoon salt

½ cup milk
-
2 tablespoons melted butter (or oil)

1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Fudge Topping
-
½ cup granulated sugar
-
½ cup brown sugar
-
¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
And
-
1 ½ cups hot water
👩🍳 Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
Lightly grease an 8×8-inch baking dish. -
Make the batter:
In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, and salt.
Stir in milk, melted butter, and vanilla until smooth.
Spread evenly in the baking dish. -
Make the topping:
In a small bowl, mix granulated sugar, brown sugar, and cocoa.
Sprinkle evenly over the batter (do not stir). -
Add hot water:
Carefully pour hot water over everything.
Do NOT stir — this is what creates the sauce! -
Bake for 35–40 minutes.
The top will look set, but underneath will be rich chocolate sauce. -
Rest 10 minutes, then spoon into bowls.
