🍳 Grandma’s Tastiest 10-Minute Dinner
(aka “You’re not leaving the table hungry”)
Ingredients
-
1 lb smoked sausage or kielbasa, sliced
-
1 tbsp butter
-
1 small onion, sliced
-
1 can green beans, drained (or frozen)
-
Salt & black pepper
-
Optional but VERY grandma-approved:
-
A splash of chicken broth
-
A pinch of garlic powder
-
Instructions
-
Heat a large skillet over medium-high.
-
Melt the butter, add sausage slices.
-
Brown sausage for 3–4 minutes (don’t rush—this is flavor).
-
Toss in onion and cook 2 minutes until soft.
-
Add green beans, season with salt & pepper (and garlic powder if using).
-
Splash in a little broth, stir, and cook 2–3 more minutes.
-
Taste. Adjust seasoning. Serve hot.
How Grandma Would Serve It
-
With buttered bread or cornbread
-
Maybe a quick fried egg on top
-
And a look that says: “See? You didn’t need takeout.”
If you want, I can give you:
-
a 10-minute chicken version
-
a Southern-style gravy upgrade
-
or a poor-but-delicious pantry dinnerÂ
