Viral Dumpling Lasagne Recipe
Ingredients:
– 1 bag of frozen dumplings (chicken, pork or vegetarian)
– 2 cups of shredded mozzarella cheese
– ½ cup of grated Parmesan cheese
– 2 cups of marinara or tomato sauce
– 1 cup of cooked minced beef or chicken (optional)
– 2 cloves of garlic (minced)
– 1 tablespoon of olive oil
– 1 teaspoon of chilli flakes (optional)
– Salt and pepper to taste
– Fresh green onions or parsley for garnish
Instructions:
1. Prepare the sauce:
– Heat the olive oil in a pan.
– Add the garlic and sauté until fragrant.
– Add the ground meat (if using) and cook until browned.
– Pour in the marinara sauce and season with salt, pepper and chilli flakes.
– Simmer for 5–7 minutes.
2. Assemble the ‘lasagne’
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
In a baking dish or ramekin:
Spread a thin layer of sauce.
Add a layer of frozen dumplings.
Spoon over some more sauce.
Sprinkle with mozzarella.
Repeat the layers (dumplings, sauce, cheese).
3. Bake, then top with mozzarella and Parmesan.
Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes, then remove the foil and bake for a further 10–15 minutes until golden and bubbly.
4. Finish
Garnish with green onions or parsley.
Optional: Drizzle with chilli oil for a spicy finish.
Tips for the best results:
– No need to thaw the dumplings – they cook perfectly in the sauce.
– Use chilli oil or soy sauce for an Asian fusion twist.
– Add ricotta for extra creaminess, like in classic lasagne.
