– 1 teaspoon Celtic sea salt
INSTRUCTIONS:
Cut the bacon into thick pieces and fry in a large skillet over medium heat until crisp. Remove from pan and set aside on paper towels to drain.
In the same pan, melt the butter over medium-high heat until it becomes foamy.
Add the diced onion to the skillet and cook until soft and translucent, about 4 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
Add the minced garlic and cook until fragrant and soft, about 3 minutes.
Toss in the cabbage and stir well to coat with butter and onions.
Season generously with the Celtic sea salt and continue to cook until the cabbage begins to soften and reduce in volume, about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Return the bacon to the pan and mix through. Cook until the cabbage is glossy, lightly translucent, and has some golden-brown bits, about 2-3 minutes more.
Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. Serve hot as a savory side or a simple main.
Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to four days, or freeze for up to three months.
