🧈 Butter Swim Biscuits

🛒 Ingredients

  • ½ cup (1 stick) butter

  • 2½ cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 tablespoon sugar

  • 1 tablespoon baking powder

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1¾ cups buttermilk
    (or 1¾ cups milk + 1½ tbsp vinegar/lemon juice)

🔥 Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C)

  2. Melt butter in an 8×8 or 9×9 baking dish
    (place dish in oven while preheating)

  3. In a bowl, whisk together:

    • flour

    • sugar

    • baking powder

    • salt

  4. Stir in buttermilk until just combined
    (dough will be very wet — that’s perfect)

  5. Pour dough directly into the melted butter
    Do not stir.

  6. Use a knife to score into 9 squares

  7. Bake 20–25 minutes until top is golden brown

  8. Rest 5 minutes, then serve warm 💛

✨ Optional Add-Ins

  • Cheddar + garlic

  • Honey drizzle

  • Everything bagel seasoning on top

  • Cinnamon sugar for sweet version
