โญ Ingredients

For the Cookies

  • 2 ยฝ cups all-purpose flour

  • ยฝ tsp baking powder

  • ยฝ tsp baking soda

  • ยฝ tsp salt

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened

  • ยพ cup granulated sugar

  • 1 large egg

  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

  • ยผ tsp almond extract (optional, for extra flavor)

For the Icing

  • 1 cup powdered sugar

  • 1โ€“2 tbsp milk (or cream)

  • ยฝ tsp vanilla extract

  • Food coloring (pink, red, or your choice)

  • Sprinkles or edible decorations (optional)

1. Prep the dough

  1. Preheat oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC).

  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

  3. In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

  4. Beat in egg, vanilla, and almond extract.

  5. Gradually add the flour mixture and mix until combined.

2. Shape and bake

  1. Roll dough out to ยผ-inch thickness on a floured surface.

  2. Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut out shapes.

  3. Place cookies on a parchment-lined baking sheet.

  4. Bake 8โ€“10 minutes or until edges are lightly golden.

  5. Let cool completely on a wire rack.

3. Decorate

  1. In a small bowl, mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.

  2. Divide into small bowls and tint with food coloring.

  3. Pipe or spread icing onto cooled cookies.

  4. Add sprinkles or edible decorations while icing is still wet.
