Cook time: 30 minutes
Total time: 45 minutes
Ingredients:
3 cups of cooked chicken, shredded or cubed
8 oz egg noodles, cooked and drained
1 cup of sour cream
1 x 10.5 oz can of cream of chicken soup
1 x 10.5 oz can of cream of mushroom soup
1 cup of shredded Cheddar cheese (plus extra for the topping).
½ cup of milk
1 teaspoon of garlic powder
½ teaspoon onion powder
½ teaspoon black pepper
½ teaspoon salt (adjust to taste).
4 slices of cooked bacon, crumbled
1 ½ cups of French fried onions (or crushed potato crisps) for topping.
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish).
Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish or oven-safe skillet.
Cook the egg noodles according to the packet instructions, then drain and set aside.
In a large bowl, combine the cooked chicken, sour cream, soups, milk, cheddar cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper. Mix until well blended.
Gently stir the noodles into the mixture until evenly coated.
Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish. Spread evenly.
Top with extra shredded cheese, crumbled bacon and French fried onions.
Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes or until hot, bubbling and golden-brown on top.
Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
Tips:
For quick prep, substitute rotisserie chicken.
For a spicy twist, add a pinch of paprika or chilli flakes.
You can make it ahead of time and refrigerate it for up to two days — just bake it when you’re ready!
