🍎 Baked Apple Fritters (Quick & Easy)

⭐ Ingredients

For the Apple Fritters

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • ¼ cup granulated sugar

  • 1 ½ tsp baking powder

  • ½ tsp cinnamon

  • ¼ tsp nutmeg (optional)

  • ¼ tsp salt

  • 1 large egg

  • ⅓ cup milk

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 2 tbsp melted butter

  • 1–1 ½ cups diced apples (Honeycrisp, Fuji, or Granny Smith work great)

For the Glaze

  • 1 cup powdered sugar

  • 1–2 tbsp milk

  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

🍏 Instructions

1. Prep

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).

  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.

2. Make the Batter

  1. In a bowl, whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.

  2. In another bowl, whisk egg, milk, vanilla, and melted butter.

  3. Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and stir until just combined.

  4. Fold in diced apples.

3. Shape the Fritters

  1. Drop large spoonfuls (about ¼ cup each) onto the baking sheet.

  2. Slightly flatten the tops so they bake evenly.

4. Bake

  • Bake 10–12 minutes, or until lightly golden and cooked through.

🍯 5. Add the Glaze

  1. Whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.

  2. Brush or drizzle glaze over warm fritters.

  3. Optional: Return to the oven for 2 minutes to set the glaze.

❤️ Tips

  • For extra apple flavor, sauté apples in 1 tbsp butter + cinnamon for 2–3 minutes before adding.

  • Add chopped pecans or walnuts for crunch.

  • Double-glaze for a bakery-style finish!
